Bombay Underground promotes art, expression and creative social exchange and is dedicated to celebrating the undocumented/the underground/the lost/the forgotten. Their art programs aim to inspire individuals to explore and express themselves thereby creating a dialogue through art about unexpressed aspects of themselves and their communities. Bombay Underground is running two art and photography class in Reality Gives' Community centre. The founder of BU, Himanshu, teaches two classes for over 50 kids and young adults. Piloted in November 2011, the project will build a 3 month program that can be repeated in the future. We will celebrate the conclusion for the program through an exhibition at the Kala Ghoda Festival in South Mumbai. In addition, Bombay Underground runs a street library/bookshop in Bandra (Mumbai suburb). The library/bookshop has books, research materials, newspaper clippings, magazines, catalogues and more, about films, music, art and people. There are also books for kids that emphasises the connections between art, culture, ideology and power.
