Volunteering with us? FAQs below

Ideally, we ask our volunteers to send us their application at least six weeks before their potential start date. This gives us time to assess the application and organise a Skype meeting to discuss the position further if needed.

When planning your travel, please bear in mind that the Indian visa application process can take anywhere between a few days and several weeks to complete.

We request a minimum of three months for all positions. However, for some very specific projects we may also accept shorter periods.

A good working proficiency in English is essential. As a volunteer you will work with a multicultural team whose programs aim at a quality education in English.

Knowing another local language (Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Gujarati or any South Indian language) is definitely a plus when interacting with the local community but is not a requirement.

In general, as a volunteer you will need to work independently and be flexible with the requirements of the team. However, our staff try to be as available as possible to support volunteers.

The volunteer’s tasks are usually reviewed on a fortnightly basis through a discussion with their point of contact.

The placement of our volunteers in the different programs we run depends on their interests as well as the needs of our organisation.

We assess your skills and usually discuss the requirements with you in advance of the decision to ensure that both the parties are happy with the placement.

At the moment, we are unable to provide any compensation to our volunteers. However, we endeavour to provide our volunteers with local advice when it comes to arranging the trip, visa procedure, search for accommodation, SIM card, transport etc.

We send volunteers a Handbook and other useful information ahead of their arrival.

SOME OF OUR SUCCESS STORIES
